Still Summer?

Hey everyone I know it has been a while but it has been a pretty busy summer thus far so I haven't had a lot of time to do much other than work and sleep. Since the last time I posted anything I have only had three days off and unfortunately writing a blog was pretty low on my list of things to do. On the days I did have off I enjoyed doing things like sleeping, talking to Nathan, eating yummy food, and getting back massages. The other 58 days I spent a lot of time in Omak, a few days in Olympia, four or so days in Pomeroy, some time in Ephrata, and even down by Bickleton. Even though I have been all over the place there really hasn't been that much going on in the world of Helitack. I have been on a fair amount of fires this year but most of them have been small and short lived.
Since I do have a life besides fire I guess I should bring you up to date on everything else. These last two months haven't been super exciting but we did have a couple events worth mentioning. First off in mid August Nathan switched from his job as a FSO for 1-7 Cav to his new job as an FDO for 1-82 FA. He is now working the 9pm to 9am shift in the FDC, with the time difference he works from 11am to 11pm our time in Washington. At first I thought it would be nice to be essentially on the same schedule but I soon realized I was 100% wrong. Before Nathan changed jobs I got to talk to him a lot, he would call 2 or 3 times a day and sometimes even more because he had so much freedom with his old job. With his new job I get to talk to him 1 or 2 times a day if I am lucky because he can't leave the FDO while he is on shift. I mean I am still thankful that I get to talk to him on the phone at all but, if I don't get to talk to him for more than a day or so I can't stand it.
Second,on Sunday August 23rd while on a fire I got a phone call from my older brother Jimmie and he told me that I am going to be an auntie again! They are expecting their second child right around April 24th, I believe, and to be honest I don't care what they have I am just really excited, I love being an aunt. The cool thing is Nathan and I will be in Texas when they have this baby so I will be so much closer (9 hr drive) and this time I won't have to wait 6 month to meet him/her like I did with their daughter Catherine.
Last but not least yesterday marks the seventh month of Nathan's deployment! We are finally on the last leg of this deployment. I can not wait to see him when he gets to come home for R&R. We are hoping that he gets to come home in November for our first anniversary. Since I met Nathan back in October of 2003 the longest I have ever been away from him was in 2007 and that was for 5 months.
Oh, one more thing. I found out yesterday that my fire season was extended until September 30 although with all the rain we got today I wonder if they might not take that extension back. Anyway, when the season is finally over I will give you all the juicy details but for now I will leave you with a few pictures from this year so far.
