Saturday Six

Monday: I had meetings all day at work. Nathan started fall quarter at YVCC, taking Chemistry 109. He is working on his prerequisites for a nursing degree. He was underwhelmed with the class but I'm sure it will get a little more difficult as the quarter goes on.  All I did all day was stress and feel like I didn't really accomplish anything, it was all very annoying. After getting nothing done all day I had to stay super late working on getting stuff ready for the week. I came home to a yummy dinner of leftover White Chicken Chili.

Tuesday: Another long day at work but I came home to a yummy dinner of  Turkey Tacos made by Nathan. I also tried to help Nathan with some of his Chemistry homework. I'm not convinced I helped much.

Wednesday: Long, and very boring day at work. I had to stay late for a meeting at 1600 so everyone else went to the fair. After my meeting I met up with Nathan at the fair. We checked out the FFA displays and got a hand dipped chocolate covered ice-cream bar. We checked out the STEAM building (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) there were displays from most of the local high schools and some of the colleges.  Then we went and checked out the animal barns. When we were done checking out the animals we were pretty hungry. I chose the worst taco stand to go to but we did find a yummy elephant ear. After we wandered around some more we went to the Sun Dome and checked out the booths in there. By then it was dark and cold so we headed home. I was pretty underwhelmed by the fair food so we stopped by the Laredo in Naches for some super yummy fresh French fries before we headed home and went to bed.

Thursday: I worked, Nathan went to school. Not much else went on.

Friday: I came home early, well early for me. Nathan and I went to town and just hung out before we had our traditional Friday evening in. After pizza, chips and queso, and Shark Tank, we were both pretty tired so we went to bed fairly early for a Friday night.

Saturday: We got up fairly early for us, 0800, so we could be out the door and on our way to Renton by 0830. When we left Tieton it was raining, and it kept raining the entire way over. It was raining so much on the pass that there was standing water on the roadway and lots of car accidents. The traffic and poor driving conditions didn't let up until we made it to Renton Downtown Harley Davidson. It was pouring rain but quite a few people showed up to welcome Don Blanchard back from his two month tribute ride. He was riding to fulfill a life long dream, to raise money for charities, and to try to find some peace with the situation. It was very neat to be a part of the flag line as Don rode in. It is still hard for me to believe that Aaron is really gone, so I can't even imagine what his family is going through. After we welcomed Don home we met up with Jobie and Mike for lunch at an Irish restaurant in Renton. It was so nice to talk with Jobie and Mike, I miss being able to hang out with them. It's hard to believe it's been almost seven years since we were in college together. After lunch my brother Jimmie (in town from Ohio) called to let me know he was done with work, so we met up with him at my sister Maria's house. It was great to see Jimmie, Maria, Skyler, and the kids. We hung out talked and Nathan played Monopoly with Tanner. We went to dinner at Big Fish Grill where I had sturgeon and prawns for the first time. They were both pretty decent. After dinner, Skyler treated everyone to dessert at Ben and Jerry's. I had the lemonade sorbet and it was delicious!! It was a long rainy ride home but Nathan and I had a great time seeing everyone.

Friday Five + +

Saturday: I went to a professional development program from 0800 to 1445 on Saturday. Lets just say it wasn't what I was hoping it would be and I thought it was a total waste of time. I drove the 45 minutes home only to jump into different clothes and jump back in the car and drive an hour to Ellensburg. Nathan and I picked up Nathan's friend Charles and Charles' girlfriend Kari. We all went and saw the Zac Brown Band at the Gorge. It was so fun and the weather was perfect, if not on the warm side. The band was great and well worth getting home at 0100.

Sunday: Had to go in to work to catch up on everything I ignored Friday and Saturday. We had tacos for dinner and watched lightning and listened to thunder. Just about the time I asked Karen if it was going to hail and she said no, I heard hail hitting the skylight. I looked outside to see hail coming down on to the deck so I told Karen. Rich and Nathan were in the garage changing a headlight in Karen's car so they already knew it was hailing when I told them. I was so disappointed. I just couldn't believe we were two weeks away from picking and it was stinking HAILING!!! Nathan and I had quite the adventure out at the North Orchard checking the apples because while we were there, Nathan's car battery died. We are pretty sure that it didn't hail out at the North Orchard. Luckily, the hail here was nothing like last year so our baby trees just had some torn leaves and Rich's apples have what we believe is minimal damage. Only time and the packing line will really tell.

Monday: Rich and Karen went to the beach for Karen's birthday and just to get away from us ;).  I met up with Laurie Armstrong so she could help me square up Hazel's quilt. On my way home I stopped by Becky Blanchard's new house to say hi and see how things were going. It was really nice to chat and spend some time just hanging out with a friend. Nathan and I got home about the same time as Nathan had been out working in our orchard. We had yummy hamburgers for dinner.  Nathan really does make the yummiest hamburgers ever!

Tuesday: After work Nathan and I went down to Costco to get a new battery for Nathan's car. We treated ourselves to a Berry Sundae and then came home and had yummy steak and herb noodles.

Wednesday: Got my glasses fixed after weeks of not having glasses because the nose pad fell off. Nathan and I had yummy pork chops, asparagus, and cranberry stuffing.

Thursday: I was at meetings all day at work and accomplished nothing except unnecessarily stressing myself out. The house Nathan and I want to buy finally has a For Sale sign out front. Of course the bank is asking a ridiculous price so the waiting game continues. Then I had a late night at work getting stuff squared away and ready for Friday. I came home to Nathan making yummy spaghetti for dinner and Karen and Rich brought doughnuts from the bakery at the beach for dessert.

Friday: Came home early-ish. Nathan and I enjoyed yummy pizza and some chips and dip, while we watched lots of Big Bang Theory and a little Shark Tank. Nathan did manage to pull himself away from the TV long enough to change water out in the orchards.

Friday Five +

Weekend: Nathan and I hung out, relaxed, slept in, changed water, canned pears, worked (I had to make up for leaving early on Friday), made dinner for and hung out with Karen's cousin John and his wife Cilia.

Monday: I'm feeling a lot better. I'm still tired and my nose is runny but I'm feeling better. I got home from work at a decent hour. Nathan and I had the house to ourselves so we just relaxed and ate pizza for dinner. We finished watching the Texas Ranch House. It was okay but just kind of annoying. I wish I could do something like that...... I'm sure it would suck but I think it would be really cool too. After watching the show, as Nathan and I were discussing how lame everyone was and how cool it would be to be a part of an experience like that, we decided to make a pear crisp. We still have about a half a box of pears ripening that we will can or dehydrate soon. The crisp just came out of the oven...... I'm not sure if I will stay up to have some or not. I hope it's yummy. I can't believe it's only Monday.....I really wish it was Friday.

Tuesday: After a long day at work I met Nathan, Rich, Karen, John, and Cilia for dinner at Apple Tree Grill. We had a great dinner out on the deck watching people golf and the sun set.

Wednesday: I worked late.

Thursday: Came home late to yummy dried pears! Thanks Nathan.

Friday: The day I had been wishing for on Monday came!!! Finally! Pizza and Big Bang, then to bed early for a school meeting in Toppenish all day Saturday.

Friday Five

Monday: Slept in and just relaxed most of the morning. Nathan sprayed our baby orchard for aphids and I worked on tracking our spending from last month. We started keeping track back in 2010 and it is interesting to look at our spending trends ect. After lunch I went in to work and got ready for the up coming week. I got home around 1700 and we had a delicious dinner out on the deck of steaks, homemade apple sauce, and Patty Pan squash (fresh from our neighbor's garden). After dinner we had cake and Rich opened his birthday presents. His birthday isn't until tomorrow but we decided to celebrate tonight. After cleaning up from dinner and dessert, Nathan and I watched a new show called Ranch House, similar to the Frontier House we were watching. I have my work outfit picked out and now it's time to get ready for bed as my phone just told me "get ready for bed NOW!"

Tuesday: Another day in the trenches. It went as well as could be expected after a long weekend. When I got home I was tired and exausted and my feet hurt. Nathan is amazing and offered to rub my tired, dirty, and slightly puffy feet. It was sooooooo nice. After I put my feet up for a bit we ate dinner out on the deck again. I had leftovers and everyone else had crab that Rich's sister Sandra brought back from the beach. We hung out talking on the deck for a while while everyone ate their fill of crab. After dinner I talked to my Grandpa Perez for a while, he seems to be doing well. He spends a lot of time at the nursing home with his wife Louise. After I talked to my grandpa, Nathan and I watched another episode of Ranch House. Like the other show, it's not that great but we will probably watch the whole thing. Now I'm just stalling and doing everything possible to avoid going to bed because I don't want to have to get up in the morning, I really am not a morning person.

Wednesday: Had a decent day. It was long and my feet were tired. I came home and made two dinners. We ate the Quinoa Stuffed Peppers out on the deck and I put the Taco Salad meat in the fridge for tomorrow. I'm pretty tired so I'm off to bed.

Thursday: Open House: at work from 0715 to 2045. Good night.

Friday: Had a terrible night sleep because my throat was sore. I originally thought it was from talking so much but by this morning I decided its probably due to some wonderful post nasal drip. I was miserable at work and came home as early as I possibly could. I layed around for a few hours and Nathan made me some soup. We had some pizza and watchd an entire DVD of Big Bang. Now it's off to bed to enjoy my weekend and hopefully a good night sleep.
